The short answer is no.
The overall exam format remains the same as the Next Generation NCLEX (NGN), which was introduced in 2023. The exam continues to use:
Computerized Adaptive Testing (CAT)
Next Generation NCLEX (NGN) item types
Clinical judgment-based questions
Partial-credit scoring for applicable question types
Rather than introducing a completely new exam, the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) has updated the 2026 NCLEX Test Plan, effective April 1, 2026, to better reflect current entry-level nursing practice.
